FAQ
I don’t speak French and my child neither, how she/he will adapt?
From the first day of school, your child will be surrounded by a French environment. I do not expect of her/him to speak French or to understand French. Give it time and little by little your child will understand and speak French naturally. You can support your child by reading stories in French, talking in French with her/him. If you don’t have any knowledge of French you can find some resources here.
How many kids are in class today?
It depends on a day and a group. Your child will always be in a group with less than 6 other kids. I have no plans to grow the program beyond my own management abilities.
Do you have a waiting list?
No. I expect that parents who apply to my program have lots of options. So we don't track previous applications. The best way to keep current on enrollment availability is to keep in touch with me via mommy events, morning walks, or whatnot.
Does Petite France serve a hot lunch?
Yes, your child will have a light snack in the morning to help calm her hunger till the "hot" lunch time. There is also a snack (goûter) in the afternoon for the second group. All food is homemade.
What is the age minimum?
Enrollment starts at 2 years old. No need to be potty-trained - I can help your child in this transition.
Tuition
Tuition depends on how many days your child is attending the school. For example, the AM program for 3 days/week is $816 per month.
What’s the difference between daycare and preschool?
Preschools typically focus on emotional and cognitive development as well as kindergarten preparation while the primary focus of daycare is to ensure that children’s basic needs are met (food, toileting, and supervision)
